Reg : Express Entry along with family

Hi,
This is Suresh.I am married and have two kids. I am going to apply for express entry. Is it possible to do the process for me alone. I am planning to take my family after 6 months or 1 year after I get settle down there.

Some tell that if I am married, I need to apply for PR together with my family only and individual application is not possible.

Can you please clarify me on this ?

You can apply alone however once you land and gets PR in Canada. After that, it will take almost one year to get your family there, after the documentation and process.

it is advised to apply PR for the whole family, however initially you can land alone and once you get PR card, you can come back and take your family with you.

Thank you for your reply. Is it necessary to get Educational credential assessment for my wife also. She is a BCA graduate. No work experience till now. She is not willing to write ielts exam... Most probably will not work in Canada, since she is taking care of my two daughters

Only if you want to claim points for her credentials.

If you get her ECA then 8 points will be added to your total CRS.

Optional. If you are not getting enough points, then your wife can appear in IELTS to increase your CRS.
