Refused at POE, i was made to return voluntarily.

I was refused entry at POE, because I came in late and I told the agent that I intended to defer my semester.

She assured me that my visa would still be valid and I could return, how ever I checked online to see that my visa is no longer valid.

Please help, does this mean I can't return anytime soon?

When did your TRV expire? Do you have a valid study permit? And were you coming from USA?

Did you show the letter from the school that you have been deferred to the next semester?

Am coming from Nigeria, this was my first entry to Canada. My Study visa was supposed to be for 2 years, but the officer made it invalid

No, I had a current admission letter and I was late by two weeks due to my visa not arriving on time.

You should have gotten a deferred letter from the school. Then the CBSA can let you in and would advise you to extend your study permit.

You will now have to reapply for the study permit since they cancelled it.
