Hi guys,

Ok here's the bad news. Like some of you speculated, I was informed by Campbell Cohen (my representatives) that my application was turned down. However, though they didnt give me the reason for the refusal, they informed me that they strongly believe that my file was erroneously turned down and they are writing a reconsideration letter. Now I'm gonna need advise here. What are the chances of my application being reconsidered? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Darkside,

Sorry to hear that. But can you shade more light on your case so that members can have better understanding of your issue. This will bring about better advise.

Regards,

Barsindoo

Ok. Here's the scenario.

My assessment was 69 (which includes 2 points for a basic knowledge of french that I showed with my secondary school reports.. A long shot but it showed I studied it b4). My work experience is 6 yrs performing the role of a financial manager. Now here's where I think they might have had a problem. I worked 2 years and 9 months (from feb 2003 to nov 2005) with a defunct bank (got acquired after I'd left so I cant get any reference letter from them). I've been working with an existing bank since nov 2005 (meaning i've clocked 4 yrs but as at when I submitted the application, I had just done 3 years and 8 months). I wrote a covering letter explaining my inability to provide a reference letter from my old bank (which no longer exists) and I provided copies of my employment letter from them as well as a promotion letter and also a newspaper article which showed that it was acquired in 2006 (which was after I had left the bank). Unfortunately, my representatives didnt tell me what the reason for the refusal was so I'm kinda lost.

Contact your lawyer again and ask for more information. They can let you know for sure what is going on. Here we can only make uninformed guesses.

Usually the lawyer sends a copy of as PDF of the visa office communication, did they send it to you?

No they did not. But I know they ordered the CAIPS notes.

Ordering CAIPS is really good.

They usually sent us the first page of the letter that visa office sent them. You should ask for your rep about that. They are sometimes really slow. You should call them. They have a 800 free phone no I believe. Just call them and discuss with them. They are nice~
