Application for a change conditions of my work permit has been refused (open WP --> WP for specified employer). My employer's LMO hasn't been decided so I have passed the 2 months period. Therefore I lost my Implied status. As far as we went through my case at Banff's Town Hall today, my 2 consultants and me haven't found any problem to apply for a restoration of status along with applying for a Work Permit either without decision made on LMO case. I have 90 days to apply for restoration, starting from the day I was aware of refusal (confirmed by an agent at the CIC Call Centre). There is still an option of applying at the port of entry (only with a positive LMO in hand of course), which I would love to have investigated further, please. In terms of status, I have none at this moment. Once I leave and re-enter Canada, flagpole the border, I will have to apply for a new temporary work permit. I will get decision on both work permit and status after being questioned. Officer might call my employer to check on validity of the job offer letter. The question is,,,,,, in case of refusal at the port of entry I am trying to find out if that would affect application for restoration of my status from within Canada before. If it would affect it, wouldn't be better to apply for a restoration of my status afterwards (in other words after crossing the border again)? Am I eligible to do so as a visa-exempt country citizen as my status would have been changed to a visitor status? Having visitor status does not disable the option of restoring my previous tf worker status?

Thank you for your great advice! This has already been such a helpful site. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. enjoy life
