Refugee PR to Marriage Pr

Hi there,

I applied for a refugee PR and waiting for it. My boyfriend also waiting for his PR. Is there a way that I can withdraw my application and apply for pr again through his PR after we get married?

Is there anyone who experienced this situation before and give me a guide before I consult a lawyer?

You should not withdraw the refugee application. This will trigger the removal order.

Once you get married, your boyfriend can certainly sponsor you for PR through spousal sponsorship (after his PR status has been approved). However you should not withdraw the refugee application until the spousal sponsorship application is approved. Otherwise you might find yourself in a situation where you are at risk of being removed from Canada.

No. If you get PR through a refugee application, then it will remain that way.
