Experts,

do you think the refugee crisis in the middle east will ever come
on the expense of FSW / EE immigration?

For example, the cap for 2016 to be lowered due to an intake of refugees?

It is a very sad situation, and help is a must for the refugees,
but one hopes Canada will be able to allow for both immigrations; EE, and refugees...

Economic migration is a different case from refugees. While refugees usually depend on government for support, Immigrants bring in money to their economy.

So based on that, I don't see it affecting much. What may affect is the Canada general elections coming soon!!!

As far as I know Canada has not accepted any refugees. Just Europe accepted them for now And Canada also have no good intentions to accept refugees.
Correct me if I m wrong.

Who is the best candidate for imigration? Harper?
Seriously? No, Harper is definitely not the best for immigration. You want someone a little more liberal for that!

That's not true. Each year the government has a quota for refugees that's usually around 10,000 people (refugee crisis or not). Canada has a long history of helping refugees. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2014-11-06.asp

This year the government announced a larger quota following the incident with the dead child. The issue with refugees is that the process is really slow and most have to wait outside.

I dont think it will directly affect numbers, however my immigration specialist in Kingston tells me that events like this and the Nepal/Haiti earthquakes, etc have an effect on processing and logistics.
