Hi, does anybody know if we are eligible to do the new accelerated government funded PSW course? I didn't find any specifics stating that anyone is exempt from participating in this program and anyone entitled to work in Canada is eligible to participate. The course is said to be six months long.

Are you asking about the Humber College program?

Right now that program is only available to domestic students to the best of my knowledge.

Oh, I heard it's open for everyone but not sure though. I'm trying to get in touch with the college and see what they say.

I am 99% sure the Humber program is for domestic students only. Let me see if I can find where I read that.

Is it the Humber program you are interested in or another school?

This is the program I was thinking of at Humber. It's for domestic students only:

https://healthsciences.humber.ca/pr...elerated.html?year=2020&avail=0&pre_year=2021

The Personal Support Worker - Accelerated program is made possible by the Ontario Government. Humber will offer the program for 180 domestic students in the spring and summer of 2021. Applications will be accepted in early March.
No, I'm not looking at the Humber College. I'm looking at other schools.

I contacted the college, but they aren't giving me a proper answer to whether we are eligible nor I found out otherwise in any news articles. They said they will get back to me and meanwhile, I can send my documents to the College so that they can review. But that still doesn't answer whether I'm eligible to attend the course.

P.S:- Unless we got our protected persons paperwork, we are not eligible.

Given the program is subsidized by the government and the program is needed so there were be more psws available to work in Ontario without permanent status in Canada you'd unfortunately risk training someone who could no remain in Canada.
