I'm a refugee claimant and it's possible to drop the claim if I'm able to get an employer that can provide with an open LMO?

You should wait until you have an approved work permit before you drop the claim.

However you may face challenges getting an approved work permit. As a refugee claimant, you will likely have difficulty satisfying the officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your employment (demonstrating you will leave Canada is a requirement for obtaining a work permit).

I see. So, it's better to just go ahead with the claim to the end? The immigration officer told me it might take a year for the refugee board to review my case. I'm thinking of going to school here in Canada. Would I have to pay as international student if I'm a refugee claimant?

A work permit obtained with/without a LMO doesn't stop the refugee claim or stop the removal.

Interesting... I didn't know - thanks for that.

Yes, refugee claimant can get work permit (if deemed necessary based on financial needs) and without LMO and no fee required. However, there will be a note on it says "This document does NOT confer status." Which mean you are allowed to work but your status will depend on your refugee claim.
