Hello everyone. I entered Canada last September with my husband and two kids. We applied for asylum inside Canada on 7 September, went for medicals same month. But I’m hiv positive although my family isn’t. Things got a little delayed and we got our brown paper end of November and my work permit arrived first week of January as it was pending tb tests which i passed. A month after receiving our brown papers we got an email about icac that our case is less complicated with no intervention required and will have a regular hearing. We submitted evidence with our BOC and narrative. If we have new news articles and clips from social media, can we upload these or do we need to wait for the interview? Anyone care to share please the kind of questions we should expect during the hearing

Are you working with a lawyer? For your asylum claims remember that you need proof that each one of your family members are being persecuted. You can provide general information about your home country but should also have information specific to your family. Did your file say you would need a short hearing and you have been considered a less complex application or does the letter say that you need a regular hearing and your family has been considered as less complex?

Yes I’m working with a lawyer. Did a normal submission but got email saying we selected for the icac pilot and our case is considered less complicated, no intervention required and type of hearing (regular - less than three hours).

Your lawyer should be guiding you about your submissions so ask them about whether you shouldn’t submit additional information.
