Hello, I got the notice of decision 2 days ago and is negative. I’d like to voluntary leave Canada ASAP, how can I get my passport back, where I should go and do. I’m in Toronto thank you so much. I’ve bought a plane ticket already and I’d like to know what are my chances to come back as a normal visitor in the future because all my situation changed back home.

You need to contact CBSA and let them know you are leaving Canada. Your passport will be returned to you by CBSA as you are boarding the plane to leave Canada.

You will need to apply for an ARC to be allowed to return to Canada. A failed refugee claim can make it more difficult to come to Canada in the future on temporary status (e.g. visitor, work permit, study permit).

Do I need an ARC even though I’m voluntary leaving within 15 days ?

I'm not sure in that case. I'm sure someone else will comment.

It will be quite a while until another TRV will likely be approved. Had the situation changed in your country you could have voluntarily withdrawn your application so that argument is not very strong.

I was waiting for months the notice of decision. I read it was even worse to withdraw it if you didn’t even have their answer. Is not that I want to come back right away but I want to travel no problem around the world .

Neither is great. Unfortunately applying for asylum in Canada will make it difficult to travel to certain countries
