Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask, is it possible (or helpful) for someone to send evidence related to their BOC (Basis of Claim) to the IRB before they are asked to provide it? Would that make any difference in the process?

Also, does the IRB request evidence for every case, or can some claims be confirmed directly without a hearing, especially in less-complex fast-processing cases?

Thanks

No you should not send evidence before asking to provide it. It will not lead to faster processing if that is your goal. Please consult your lawyer.

Yes some non-complex claims are approved without a hearing or a shorter hearing but claims always require evidence. Due to the volume of applications even non-complex case processing has become quite long but still shorter than other cases.

Sending evidence to the IRB does not make a difference in the timeline of processing your case. You can send it before they ask, I submitted all my evidence with my application and only submitted an update on my life in written/affidavit form when they asked for evidence (because 2-3yrs had passed since I applied).

IRB will always require evidence, as it is proof of your story/BOC being true and it is one of the things they base their decision on, regardless of what processing stream you are in.
