I have a meeting with CBSA end of this month. I had a PRRA virtual interview with an officer completed last month. I was ineligible to claim asylum and was offered PRRA by CBSA. My case is strong and all evidence was submitted at PRRA interview with officer. I hear the acceptance rate for such applications is over 30%. Would i be getting good news with cbsa when i go in for the meeting? Thanks

I don't think there's any way any of us can guess what the outcome will be. Good luck and hope it's positive.

Just don't miss the meeting.

I wont, but is there a way to know what the decision is before going in? My lawyer is not responding so i don’t know what to think

I don't think there is any way to know the decision in advance. You will find out in the meeting.

No

Hence that’s why you have a meeting

PRRA acceptance rate is extremely low
3-5%
No, its above 30% in my case, see below.

Supporting Facts And Figures

Irregular Migrants and the Pre-removal Risk Assessment

  • A person such as an irregular migrant who makes an asylum claim that is determined to be ineligible to be referred to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB), or is referred but then rejected, is then referred to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for removal.
  • As part of the removal process, a CBSA removals officer determines who is entitled to apply for a PRRA.
  • Of those who are entitled to a PRRA and apply, the approval rate in the last five fiscal years is on average:

Do they send approval letter from IRCC to lawyer before meeting? Or they only give in person? Do you know of any case where IRCC have sent the letter before the cbsa meeting? Thanks

The results are from IRCC (decision letter) not from CBSA and they are just bearer of news from what i understand. Is it not possible to request a decision update from IRCC in the mean time?

No they want to deliver the information in person partially because some have a history of not following immigration laws and rulings.

Wow, good luck and keep us updated on the outcome! As far as I know, the PRRA is much better than claiming asylum and waiting for years. Plus, traveling with an RTD and needing visas everywhere really sucks.

PPRA is much harder to obtain. If you qualify for a PPRA you likely aren’t going to return to your home country and come from a country with a weak passport so an RTD may make travel easier to many places.
