Refresher course for Web Developers?

I've been in Canada for two and half months now and applied for more than 40 web developer positions but I haven't receive any interviews yet.
Some say that I should study or take a refresher course to get back in my field. I've graduate with Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science specializing in SharePoint development with 3 years professional experience.

I hope you guys can help me to what course of certification that you take to get back in your field.

Why are they saying you need to "get back in your field"? Weren't you laready "in your field" before applying?

Oh I mean is that getting to IT related job, I thought if I study in a Canadian college or university I'll get recognize by the employers.
