Hello everyone,

I have a concern regarding the reference letter from the employer (the current employer).
At one hand, since I have a good job, I'm glad to ask to my employer to provide me one, but at the other hand, I'm afraid I could risk my job.
The thing is that I am planning not to tell my employer what do I need the reference for.
But if the visa office calls for verifying and tells that I have applied for going to live in Canada, I'm afraid I could lose my job :(. And if things don't go well, so if I don't get the visa, I may remain jobless :(
How should I act in this case?

Hi albabeu,

Seems you are in between the devil and deep blue ocean!!. :(
Unless you convince your employer telling the truth and get the reference letter for the intended purpose, you could get termination in case CIC make verification.

Just include all those things which mrprice stated along with a detail letter to the VO explaining why you cannot produce a reference letter, and why a verification should be done only in a positive case, meaning they should make a verification only if the VO is sure that your case is good for a PR !

Thank you for the advice. Should I be really honest when explaining to the VO why I cannot provide a reference letter? I mean, is that ok if I tell them thhat I'm afraid I could lose my job if the employer comes to know that I'm applying for going to Canada? And is that ok if I ask them to verify only in a positive case (means if VO is considering to give me the visa)?
Because if so, I can produce a reference letter to VO, without telling my employer about the purpose of it, and along with it I can ask the VO to do the verification only in a positive case. Would this be fine?
I'm so confused, and afraid :(

What you are feeling or experiencing is not new, lots of people go through this. Be honest and don't hide anything from VO!

Please, any advice on how the statement should be? I mean, I want to express to the VO that although I'm providing them with a reference letter from my current employer, I need them to do the verification only in case of a positive response from them, because I may risk my job if my employer finds out why I needed the reference letter for.

Could anybody help me with a tip letter of statement to VO?
PLZZZ

Dont be panic, as i toldu before there is no need for reference letters as u can convince your vo about your job title and tasks. Use the dox i told u above. I did the same and things go ok all the way. If the vo wants to call your employer he will do whether u sent a cover letter or no. No body can guarantee that if he called he is positive abt your file.
All the best.
