Hello...I have received the letter from the CIU unit in Sydney stating to provide the supporting documents. I sent on Feb 26 and got it reply on March 18.

I have a problem in the reference letter issue. I don't want to inform my employer about the immigration to canada. But on the other hand my manager knows about my case and is willing to provide me with the reference letter with his business card, but not on the company letterhead and without the stamp/seal. Is this sufficient? or will this create a problem as the letter is not on the company letterhead. Will the immigration official contact the top management OR they will only contact the person who has signed???

Can anyone help/advise me on this issue, either PMM or rupeshari...plz help

Thank you
Bye

I have no idea who they will contact given that I don't have experience with this yet.
I am presuming they will contact the person whose name is on the business card.

Whether a non-company letterhead letter is sufficient, I cannot answer this. I am guessing they want it on a company letterhead because it is easy for fraudulent people to create a letter using a friend, make up a business card and send this in. On the other hand, it isn't much harder to create a fake letterhead either. I am sure if you don't give everything they asked for (like a company letterhead letter), then they might ask you to furnish further details such as tax forms, salary slips, etc.

Don't they say (you should double check) on appendix A something about if you can't furnish the letter from your current employer. I wonder what those people do, who cannot furnish a letter from their current employer. It would be good for them to reply here so you could do what they do as well as provide the letter from your manager as is.

Thanks for the reply...I will ask my manager and try to get it on the letterhead, but the immigration officials usually contact the person who signed right? Because I have not informed the top management. I don't wish to inform them either.
Thanks again

as far as you got the reference letter signed by your manager which is made on company letter head with company seal 90 % chance are they will not contact the signing person.

perhaps like a stamp.
