Hello Everyone,

My wife and myself are working in our respective organizations for the past 8 years in India. And, for both of us if we ask for the reference letter for the HR, we fear it might raise questions and the company may ask us to resign.
So, I want to ask advice from all the seniors and other who have faced this kind of situation before.

Can I make a self swearing Job and Responsibility details and get in notarized and to add can also get the same signed by a colleague and a Client from Canada itself. Will this suffice and will it be accepted by the VO.

Not sure about the notarized copy , if that is accepted or not ... will leave this part to others who can comment..

I suggest you tell your situation to HR as you have plans to seek Canadian residence in near future

Everything I've read on this forum indicates that your "self swearing" letter is worth nothing and won't do you any good.

CIC will accept a letter from your manager (doesn't have to be HR) as long as it's true and fits the requirements that they ask for. Search this forum for threads to advise you what else you can do. This has all been discussed before.

tell them you are joining a PG program in a reputed university and they need a company reference letter.

The reference letter is required only for the Primary applicant, for dependents its not required. You can mention her job details under personal history of PR application. Since, your spouse Indian JOB experience, its of zero value under Canada PR application.

U get it done from Lawyer ( notary) and make someone else will sign the document ...

This is applicable for both Primary and Secondary .. Notarized one is good enough.

That is not correct. As per CIC website, following is mandatory. One can get it signed on a blank paper (non-letterhead) from a colleague only who can certify the employment of applicant. Not just anyone.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...-after-january-1-2016-completeness-check.html

Document requirements
  • The personalized document checklist in applicants’ online account prompts the applicant with an upload field for each work experience declared.
  • At the completeness check, the processing office determines only whether the required documents are included. The validity or fraudulence of the information is assessed only if and when the application is placed into processing.
The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

  • a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
    • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
