Hi There,

I am in the process off getting reference letter from my former employer. However, the HR department refuses to write the duties involved in details. They will provide me with the title, salary and job length.

One of my colleague, who was my mentor is willing to provide me with the same. However, he has switched his role and now working in a different company. Can he write the letter in his new company's letterhead and mention my duties? will it work?

Please kindly help!

Thanks guys!

How lucky you are to have a mentor like this. Find some way to prove that he was employed in his capacity at the company to accompany his letter which includes an explanation that he no longer works there. Good luck.
