Hello All,

I got my PR status in February 2015 and after a week I had to leave the country without the PR card. The card was delivered at my cousins place in Toronto and through a common friend, I managed to get the PR card. In the month of November, I would like to visit Canada again. Will there be any issue in reentering the country with my PR card? Does the Canadian Immigration Authority know when did I leave the country and is there any possibility of them asking me how did you get the PR card while being away from the country? Or what questions I can expect from them?

Please share some information / similar experiences.

Thanking,
Ashay

If it has only been a year and you have your PR card, you have nothing to worry about.

Thank you for your kind reply. Do you think they have information about my exit from Canada in the year of 2015?

They really won't care. It's not illegal to receive a PR card from a friend or by mail when you're in another country.

It is not illegal to come and go as a PR as long as you adhere to the requirements of maintaining your residency. Canada is not a prison.

hi, I'm planning on doing something similar I. E come into canada, stay a week and get my P.R card through my fiance at a later date. Can you please tell me the activities you carried out in that one week that enabled you to get your P.R card mailed to your cousin. Or do I need to just land in canada? Thanks.

Land and give your Fiances address in Canada as the address for the card to be mailed to and have fiance mail to you in home country as you will need it to come back again by plane anyway. Depending time of day and location you land apply for a SIN at same time.

Hi Keesio,
I am in a similar situation, Last year i have spend 3 month in canada in my first entry and after getting the PR card i moved back to india, and next week after almost 15 months i will be re entering Canada, so do I need to show my finance documents again? will they ask at the port of entry for settlement finance amount i.e around 13000 CAD, do i need to carry the amount or the equivalent proofs again? which I have already provided when I was entering first time,,please advice and thanks in advance

If you have officially landed the first time, then you don't have to show any funds this time.
