Hello. Maybe you can help me with an issue which has me worried. I will be traveling to Canada on a Working Holiday program and TRVisa with my Argentine passport next year. I understand you are only allowed to visit the USA if you want to reenter Canada through your working permit. The problem is I plan to travel to the US with my Italian passport as I hold dual citizenship (Argentinian-Italian) and Europeans are exempt from visa there and also as I do not have a US visa on my Argentine passport. My question is: How should I prove I have just been to the US and no other place if I have to present my Argentine passport again to Canadian officials? SO if i have dual citizenship, can i lave canada with one passport ( with trv expired) only enter and exit U.S for a few days (with my other passport and visa valid) and re enter Canada with my trv expired but with my WP valid ????
I have inquired about this at Canadian Embassy here in Buenos Aires and they were unable to provide a proper answer. Hope you can. Thank you very much.

Are you flying or driving? I don't think the CBSA is going to care about your US status in this context. You could ask for an exit stamp in your Ita passport and show that one if necessary, couldn't you?

An exit stamp from the US doesn't prove the OP was ONLY in the US though. He could've come from anywhere else in the world.

OP if you want to keep the headaches to a minimum, I would suggest you apply for a visa on your Argentinian passport for the US. You can then use only the one passport for Canada and US travels. This would eliminate the pressure of trying to figure out how to do this. In order to leave Canada and return on the work permit only (no visa required) you can travel to the US and/or St. Pierre and Michelon. No travels that require you to pass over/through international waters (which pretty much means keep it to the continental US and you're good). Entering the US on your Italian passport and then returning on your Argentian passport to Canada, may look suspicious to them and cause them to haul you into secondary questioning why you would need to use dual passports, blah blah blah. CBSA isn't always known for their ... polite mannerisms. Best to avoid their radar when possible. Makes traveling much more pleasant.

Carrying dual passports in this regard might not be in your best interest because, as you said, you are visa exempt therefore no way to prove you didn't hop on a plane back to Europe and then come back via the US to cross the border into Canada. I suppose if you wanted to get hung up on the US side to get ALL of your previous travel records from all other countries (could take 6 months or more) to prove to Canada that is the only place you were ....You get the point I think ;)

Best of luck to you!

You don't need to prove it.

If you're flying to Canada, show your Italian passport to board the plane and then show your Argentina passport to CBSA; if CBSA has any questions, which I seriously doubt they will, you can just show them your other passport. There is no law against travelling on dual passports.

If you are driving across the border, then just show your Argentina passport to CBSA.
