I interviewed with an employer who has extended a verbal offer but cannot extend a formal offer until verifying I have PR. I have submitted my application and I thought a job offer would expedite the process.

Would anybody be willing to assist me on this situation? I have done everything need for all the paperwork for my PR. Just need help showing HR I am in the system.

Unfortunately having a job offer does not expedite the PR process.

It sounds like the HR team needs confirmation that you are a PR before they can extend the job offer. If that's the case, you'll need to wait until you have been issued a COPR and completed landing (depending on circumstances, landing formalities may be completed remotely).

How long ago did you submit your PR application and through which immigration stream?

Thanks for the insight. I had sent my completed application on December 18th and I'm immigrating from the United States of America through Immigration, Refugee, . Well that's unfortunate especially when the IRCC wants you to apply for jobs and that I was under the impression that this would assist in me getting COPR.

This will not speed up the COPR process or application processing.

If you only submitted your complete application last week, then you still have many months to wait before your application is finalized.

See if your employer is willing to go through the LMIA process so that you can qualify for a work permit. Or alternatively, if you hold a U.S. passport, see if you can qualify for a work permit under NAFTA without an LMIA.

For clarification, would the work permit under NAFTA be directed to the employer or towards IRCC?

Sorry - I don't understand the question.

Under NAFTA, if you are a US citizen and have a job offer in a specific occupation, you can get a work permit in Canada without having your employer go through the LMIA process first. Meaning that you can apply for a work permit directly with just the job offer. If you are a US citizen and your job offer is in an occupation covered under NAFTA and your employer is willing to give you a job offer, then this is one of the options open to you to be able to work before you are a PR.
