I am a Japanese citizen currently working in the US. I accepted a job offer from Canada and just got the LMO. I need my US citizen spouse to apply for the open work permit visa through my status.
Since I am not moving to Canada until late August, does it make sense to go to the Canadian Embassy in the US to take care of my work permit visa and my spousal visa rather than at the port of entry? I'd like to minimize the hassle at the border if I can since we'll be driving a van with a cat. Thanks in advance for any input.
