Uortunately, I got my ITA today. I say unfortunately, because I got points for two years of experience, but I'm actually 70 days away, so even by waiting the 60 days, I'll be 10 days short.

My score without the extra year is 517.

I started one of my jobs on May 31st, 2022. So the system counts the whole month. I finished that job on a July 25th, 2023, so that month is also crediting me another 5 days. I have 35 "extra" days just from this.

This job experience should be 1 year and 1 month and 25 days. But the express entry system takes it as one year and 3 months. I need 10 months and 5 days if I only include this job.

Started second job on November 19th, 2024, and I would get the 10th months and 5 days on September 24th.

That second job is still ongoing, but the ITA being from July 8th means that I've got until ~September 8th to submit it, which is 16 days away from the 2 years of experience.

The system took May from my first job and used it to calculate my experience, even thou I worked one day in May.

Without that additional year, my score is 517. The cutoff was 518. Could I take the French exam and get two points before my eAPR?

Can I still take the French exam and submit it as supporting documents?

Or should I just decline the ITA?

Yes, you can do anything to boost your score above the cut-off.

You just need to meet the minimum requirements for the class you were invited in, the overall composition of points doesn't matter.

Thank you! If I were not to take the exam already, I'd be better off declining the ITA?
