Received COPR but passport renewal is still in process

Hi ,
I received my COPR today . I had applied for passport renewal on feb 22. I still didn't receive new passport.. should I update ircc once I receive my new passport?? What about my COPR? Kindly provide a clarification.. thanks in advance.

When your current passport is expiring?

You are fine as your passport is still valid for long period. Moreover your new passport will have your old passport number mentioned on it’s back.

If you are inland then I don't think the passport is big deal. My be when you want to apply for the PR Card then you can submit the new passport and mention that you renewed it.
