Received a request for information because of low physical presence Will withdraw but do I need to reply?

I received request for additional document (REQUEST FOR SUPPLEMENTARY EVIDENCE).

They have asked for scan of all passport pages and police certificate from the country my parents stay in. Not an issue.

They had sent an Entry/Exit CBSA report. Looking at that I realized I DID NOT complete my 1095 days in Canada! I missed two long extensions which were not saved in my excel tracker! My mistake.

I have submitted withdrawal using their online form and written a letter attached to the same online form.

My question is, do I need to reply to the initial Request email too?

While it is probably not technically required, I would respond to have it on file that you have realized the error in dates and hence that you did not meet physical presence requirement as of the date of submission, and you are withdrawing to re-apply when you do meet the requirements.

This will have it on file. It's likely in your later application that the withdrawn application will show up as a flag for officer to double-check, and that's when having the response with information on file may be useful - it answers the question they will have (why the withdrawal and re-application).

Makes sense. They have asked me to respond within 30 days. I will send the letter written properly and also attach the Withdrawal of Citizenship Application (CIT0027).
