You do not need to send the originals; you can send copies if you prefer. The only things that need to be notarized (for spouses) are translations of official documents.

Wait, that isn't what I meant. Only official documents (marriage certificate, degrees etc) need professional translation. You can translate receipts yourself.

is this true that everything has to be translated?

I work as a English teacher in the country I am residing in with my wife now. To show income I will have to translate every pay stub (I work at a different school each week). That will be alot of translating. Are there any other options? Is it possible to translate each page, but in summary format?

We're just sending copies of our 2 contracts for the wedding and the reception places. And photos of the wedding. It isn't necessary to send all those receipts, if that is what you're asking. If you need the extra proof, then it can't hurt, but copies are fine. They don't need to be translated, but offering translation will certainly help. They don't need to be notarized.

Why do you need to show income? Are you the sponsor? There is no minimum income required for sponsoring a wife, so even though you have to send that stuff in, they will most likely ignore it or just look it over very quickly. I wouldn't waste a lot of time doing detailed translations.
