I am planning to apply for visit visa. would like to know once i will be in canada on my visit visa,there is any chance i can change my visit visa status which lead me to permanent residence ?

You would have to send your initial application WP to the US or your country of origin.

Hmmm,

The guys above me are pretty knowledgeable, so I wouldn't dare say that I know better then them - but from what I understand you could essentially come here on a TRV... and as you say, have someone sponsor you. This wouldn't garuantee your permanency in Canada, but it will allow you to stay in the country while the sponsorship app. is being processed (which can be upto a year and a half depending where you're from)... I think this is called dual intent?

I mean, anything with prior intentions to permanentley stay in canada, all the while coming in under the cloak as a temporary visitor, is possible to raise some eye brows... But, why not try, maybe you will genuinely fall in love - get married and fill out the documents all before your visa is up!!

I think it's possible to extend one's stay or change the conditions of stay.
that's what cic.gc.ca says:

You must apply to extend your stay if you want to:

* visit, study or work longer in Canada
* change the type of your permit (for example, from studying to working in Canada) or
* change the conditions of your stay (for example, if you are studying or working in Canada, and you want to change schools or jobs).

From a visitor visa to a work visa, application has to be made outside Canada unless the applicant falls in these categories, then they can apply in Canada:

The following persons may apply for a work permit from within Canada:
•Holders of work or study permits and their family members;

Depends on the contract and LMO. You would need to process your WP application outside of Canada though, either US or your country of origin.
