I married a single Uganda mother, Julie Mbabsazi, whom I first met in Beijing, where were both teachers. I went back to China to visit her, as well as my ex employer and other friends, in December of 2018. On that visit Julie and I decided to marry once she got back to Kampala, Uganda.
In December 2019 I went to Uganda to meet Julie's extended family, and to marry Julie. We married in Kampala, Uganda on December 2019.
On or about June 2021 my wife and her son, then under 18, had a man in Kampala submit their SINGLE (her son was under 18) Temporary Resident Visitor 5257 visa application forms for them, that they had filled out, including the forms I had to fill.
As far as I know the man submitted their visa application using my wife's GC Registration. Shortly after my wife and her son were contacted by e-mail and instructed to go to the Canada Embassy in Kampala to get their Biometric tests. Since that time my wife and I have not been contacted, or being able to contact with the visa application people, in Canada or in Africa
Thanks to the office manager of a MP member here in Nanaimo, we learned that my wife and her son’s 5257 single visa had been changed to TWO six month TRV Visitor visa applications, were originally received by IRCC on Nov 23, 2021.
I am asking if anyone reading this can help to find/explain:
1/ Why my wife and son have received no further information since getting their biometric tests.
2/Why their visa application type had been changed
3/**** To ask if their visa applications the MP’s office manager informed us about, when/if issued, will allow my wife and her son, once in Canada, to apply to stay in Canada for immigrant status, as the 5257 visa does?
4/ ** Their visa application was submitted to the Canada Embassy in Nigeria. I am told by one of my wife’s relatives in Uganda that ALL Canada visa applications are done through the Canada embassy in Tanzania. I then searched online “Where are Canada visa applications for all African countries submitted?, than clicked on Uganda and read Canada visa applications are done in Tanzania!!
I have copies of all my unsuccessful attempts to contact Canada Immigration, and am hoping someone reading this will be able to advice me about any of the above 4 points.
Thanks
