Re Entry to Canada

My (British citizen) partner's INLAND PR application is processing, nearly at the 11 month mark. I was approved as a sponsor a few months ago. He has been working full time (Open Work Permit) since February. Our son was born here this past March. I am a citizen and we live together.

We want to travel to the UK for two weeks to visit his family so they can meet our son.

His physical work permit has a typo on it, so it is being sent away for correction tommorow. I have no idea how long this will take.

Any advice/thoughts on how reentry will work? He has a valid eta.

No one can guarantee that this will be OK. It PROBABLY will for a short trip, take your sponsor approved letter and OWP. The ETA only gets you on the plane going back, it is then the CBSA officer in Canada that will make the final decision.

Just understand that there is no guarantee.

Ugh this is so frustrating. I'm wondering how many people actually take the risk. 9/10 it is a computerized border check in anyways.

You would almost certainly be fine and wonder why you worroed about it. Just no guarantee and you cant ask CBSA beforehand.

You are probably so near final approval (at 11months already), why not just hang on for a few more weeks.....
