Hi all,

I applied for an extension to my visitor status but while waiting for the decision I traveled back to my country of origin. I got the extension and the document was delivered to my brother in Canada who mailed it back to me in my country of origin but I haven't received it yet and I have my flight back to Canada tomorrow. My brother scanned the document before mailing it, so I have a copy, do you think I will be allowed re-entry with the copy?

Thanks,

Once you left Canada, your extension was no longer valid. If you don’t have a multiple entry TRV (unless you are visa exempt) you will need to apply for a new one before you can return.
If you have a valid TRV or eTA, CBSA will determine if you are allowed to enter and for how long at the POE.

What if I come from a visitor visa exempt country? I'm from Italy and I didn't have to apply for a Visitor permit in the first place when I traveled to Canada on my way in a few months ago, we get 6 months automatically. I applied for the extension on my 5th month and got it for another 6 months. But the main question is also if they will be ok with the copy and not the original.

Thanks for your help Buletruck

As long as you have a valid eta, you’ll be able to board the plane. As I said, CBSA will assess your entry and determine how long a stay you get. The extension is irrelevant now that you left Canada.
