Hi, I have been living in Canada almost 3 years now. I previously had a work permit for 2 years which expired around the end of March this year. At the beginning of the year I had started an application for and LMIA while I still had my previous work permit. I left Canada and re-entered ion March 15 and have been staying in Canada while waiting for my application to be approved. My application was approved in September and at the same time my permitted 6 months to stay in Canada ran out. I had been under the impression that once I got the LMIA I would be able to temprarily stay while getting a new work permit only recently find out that isnt true. I am a US citizen and I plan on leaving to go to the US in a couple of days and try to get a new work permit when I re-enter, I was wondering what problems I might face when I try to return a couple days after due to my over stay. I am wondering if what the chances are that I will be denied reentry or even be arrested. If anyone knows anything or could possibly give me advice I would appreciate it.
