Hi,
I applied in 2008 January. I want to reapply soon under the new rule of Social worker category......... Is it mandatory to withdraw my old application? Or can I keep two files now.....and withdraw the first one at a later time after I get result of the new one?

Can anyone tell me for sure?

Thanks

My understanding is that you can make a parallel application, and you are not obliged to withdraw the other application until CIC ask you to.

Generally if one of your applications reaches medical requests stage, CIC will ask you to withdraw the other. So IMO apply now and leave the other application running, just in case there are any problems with your new application.

If you are applying under 4152 Social Workers then make sure your application reaches CIO in plenty of time before 30th June 2011, since there can be no complete guarantee that 4152 will still be on the in-demand list on 1st July 2011.

Best of luck! :)
Wayne.

I think Wayne is correct.

I have two applications running.

In one word; yes

My old app is still in process, the new one has decision made.

Hope that helps.

Rahul

Wayne Rahul and Mr. Right!! Thank you all soo much! @ Wayne.....If the transcript comes alright then I will be able to submit the application by 15 th May........

Another query.... do I have to obtain and submit police clearance certificate? I stayed in London over a year 3 yrs back......

I got confused about the police clearance certificate because in the Singapore specifice document checklist it shows that PC is necessary only for Quebeq and FSW having job offer......

Can you clarify?

Thanks again :)

Hi,
My VO is also Singapore.
yes, you can run 2 applications in parallel.....

Well, PCC is still not mandatory but highly recommended and if you have stayed in London for over 6 months, you need PCC.
It may be mandatory for some cases ...refer guidelines of both CIO and Vo.

Rest, be updated with rules and regulations since they change periodically including minor changes.
So always look for latest application package.

PCC is a must.

Singapore only issues statutory declarations signed by a consul officer for non Sigaporean citizens. This is what I was told and submitted.

Cheers,
Rahul.

I am also in the same boat. We applied in 2006 and wife was principal applicant. Now we are applying as me being principal applicant.

One question, do we need to include a cover letter with details of previous PR application File No and explanation etc?

THANKS

Hmm that is strange - indeed the Singapore visa office specific checklist does not state the PCC is needed for Federal Skilled Worker, i.e. there is no checkbox for it.

Since it clearly says that you do not have to submit PCC yet (even if the missing checkbox is an error) then my advice would be not to send PCC with your application. If visa office want PCC they will ask for it from you later on, and even if you sent a PCC now, chances are they might ask for updated ones anyway (for example, we sent our PCCs with our original application and still had to get new ones does recently when we got medical requests!).

If you do end up needing UK PCCs later on in the process, these are usually fairly quick to get. In the APCO form you need to list every address you've lived at in the UK during the past 5 years. They have two services - the standard service for £35 sterling is 10 working days, and there is a premium service for £70 sterling which is 2 working days. However, you will obviously have to add postage times across countries to this. You probably will have to pay for a courier service for them (there's various postage options) which will also add a bit more cost.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Wayne Thank you.

I send my application on the 17th. I attached the PCC from my home country....and mentioned that the London one will be provided as required....

for anyone needing PCC from Bangladesh.....I could not do the bank draft required for the PCC from London......I tried two banks both of them refused me to do that...
So you have to it by someone living abroad......maybe in USA or Canada

Hi, I am re-applying again and would like to know if we have to say that we have a previous application? thanks

@ devilhimself and frustrated

yes its always better to mention old file details, we did! as long as all details are the same and genuine no problem at all- there is a column where they ask you-"if you have ever applied for/ denied visa to canada or any country" so you should keep them posted that you had "applied" before.

Hi Xenos!
Thanks for your quick reply!!!

I would like to ask if that applies for the principal applicant only coz the spouse and children above 18 has to fill up that form too. Is the spouse and son considered to have applied before if principal is the Husband/Father?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Frustrated!

In our case my husband was the principal applicant in both cases. So in second application in spouse's form (i.e. my form)- i mentioned that my husband had applied previously so and so file number and i was included as spouse in that application.

hope that helps.

I agree with 'xenos' as I had the same case.
I had mentioned everything truthfully and clearly in my application!

My current status is arrival of 2nd AOR

Hope it helps!
