This is probably not a common case, I'm not sure but any suggestions or advice anyone can give will be really helpful.
I was here on a post graduate work permit that expired on May 4th 2012. I had initially applied for PR under CEC in October 2011. Since my work permit was expiring and I hadn't received my PR results yet I applied to extend my status as a visitor on April 24th 2012, giving my reason to grant a visitor status as 'waiting for PR'
After applying for the visitor status extension I got my Initial PR result and it was refused on May 4th. So then I got everything together properly realizing what went wrong and re-applied on May 30th 2012. But my extension for status as a visitor has not yet been processed (according to processing times/applications being worked on) in the cic website.
Now when they reach my application are they likely to refuse it because I received my initial PR results? Although I have sent my 2nd PR application, I don't think its in there system yet as I'm not likely to get the AOR anytime soon I suppose.
My question is : if it is refused, Can I reapply to extend my status as a visitor giving them the proof that I re-applied for my PR? Or will I have to change my status to either a student or a worker?
Getting a job with an LMO has been an uphill battle however and am now thinking of study options.
Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light!
