Hi Everyone,

I received an email from the CIO-PNP today asking me to submit the RCMP Criminal Record Check with a deadline to submit by mid of April. Lucky I had already applied a few weeks ago. However, I see that the processing time for the RCMP Criminal Record Check is 18 weeks and based on that I dont think I can get mine before the deadline.
Has anyone got this request?

Did you apply for it and receive it already? And how long did it take to get the certificate?

Appreciate any response.

All the best to everyone!

went to an agent who took my fingerprints and sent to RCMP. one week later, letter in mailbox. fee: $50+HST, i believe.

Hi ipmser,

Did you get the certificate already? BTW, I thought it was free for PR purposes, I found that in this link: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fee-frais-eng.htm under Fee not required for "Applications for Immigration to Canada".
Also, did you send it to CIO already?

OK, I just called a private fingerprinting agency and they told me that once the fingerprints are taken and sent to the RCMP (I need to provide the address to them). RCMP then does the Criminal check and either sends the certificate back to us or CIC. Since I already sent the paper fingerprint (as provided on the RCMP website) by post to RCMP, now i'm not sure if I'd receive the certificate/ report or they'd send it directly to CIC. Could someone throw some light on this, if you've gone through this process?

I did the electronic fingerprinting with an agency and I received it 2 weeks later by mail, then i sent it to CIO.

Hi Mendi !!

Which agency did you go to get your fingerprints done. Can you please share the procedure.

I went to www_nationalpardon_org they have offices in Montreal, Toronto and Calgary.
I went to the Montreal offices and the whole process took me around 30 min including waiting period and $80. I told them it was for CIC and they knew what to do.

they did my fingerprinting on a scanner, similar to the one that US uses on their border or airports, then they took me a picture and two weeks later I received through mail the printed fingerprints with my picture and "No criminal record" statement. I sent that letter to CIC and that was it.

I saw on the RCMP web page a link of the "RCMP-Accredited Fingerprinting Companies for Electronic Vulnerable Sector Checks" google it and the first link is the one with the list of accredited fingerprinting companies.

hope is useful

yes that is right. 18 weeks is just on paper or maximum length after which we can contact them if we don't receive documents.

I too did Police clearance from RCMP and received it in 8 working days.
