I wrote ielts 14 times, academic one (for Australia) though, never achieved the needed mark ( 8 from each ). Now headed for Canada. Good luck to everyone waiting for today's draw

What? You need to get IELTS 8 in all sections, that too in academic, for immigrating to Australia? I thought a 7 was enough. Can you elaborate why you wrote academic and reached for 8 please?

Not draw exactly, it was updated in cic website at that time.

Yeah man, I needed to get 8 from each in order to maximize my score and have chance for selection, that would compensate my small work experience ( 2 years ) for which I could not claim points.

I think the draw takes place around 12pm-1pm at Ottawa time. I am not sure but I have observed this for previous few draws.

Yeah exactly, big work experience can get you a high score in Australian selection system, whereas for Canada no difference between 3 yrs and 15 yrs .

Hmm just calculated the points in their system, i get a 70. Min points is listed as 60. Nice to know i have a backup if my Canadian visa efforts fall through.

You and I, buddy are in exact same situation. My third IELTS was a disaster as you can see from you signature. It has broken my confidence so bad i do not want to appear for IELTS anytime soon. In june 6 i will receive 15 points for sibling. But don't know what might happen to cut-off score by then. Hopefully we both will make it by July-August, at least getting ITA is concerned lol.
