My score is 444. Would you advice doing medicals now or wait for an ITA given the current trend of high cut off scores?
Always do medicals just before you submit your application (post receiving ITA). Your medicals are valid for 1 year and your landing should be done within 1 year from your date of medical (as that would be the expiry date on your visa).

What are the chances of them doing a 1 week gap draw this week as they did in 77-78th draw in November 8 and November 15 in 2017?
Chances are pretty less. There has not been a 1 week gap draw after November 15, 2017 (more than a year now).

i'm on the same boat, pal. but i have somewhat of an interesting story:

last year the day I received the e-mail stating that my ECA was ready, I totaled up 415 points. Went online to update my profile and there was a draw held, 413. I missed the ITA by a matter of hours.

the only way for me to upgrade my score was to get my wife to take the IELTS and ECA. as she was swamped with work before, and she'd need to study for the exams, we decided to postpone it. Back in September we finally took the IELTS and her ECA was underway. Our score went up to 441 whilst waiting for her ECA report, due a couple of weeks later. In the midst of all this? A 442 points draw. Missed ITA by 1 point.

Now her ECA is complete, our score is currently 449 and we finally have had a draw with our capped score. Missed the ITA by the cut-off time.

It's getting frustrating. I'll lose 5 points in mid-December
Your journey is going to end in the next draw if it happens in Nov 2018! All the best!

I just noticed that the ministerial instruction for the last draw was issued on the 14th, but it was only done on the 15th (of November). This would probably be because of the glitch that gave people underserved points for bilingualism on the Thursday. Given that there was a significant increase in cut off (7 points, 442 -> 449), there should be an early draw on a Monday. So here's my prediction for the next draw:

Date: 26th November
Days elapsed since last draw: 11 (instead of 12, due to delayed draw).
CRS cut-off: 441-444

Fingers crossed, and good luck to those who wait!

I have question regarding the mechanism of 'Tie-breaking rule date'. This date is applicable for the cut-off score candidates ONLY right? What I mean is, given that the latest draw was 449, the tie-breaking date of Sep-16 is applicable for candidates with score 449 and NOT for anyone above 449, is that right? (All of the folks above 449, irrespective of EE submission date will have ITA, correct?)

Technical glitch caused the draw to be pushed by a day (from Nov 14 to Nov 15), that's the reason why the header states the incorrect date. The draw happened on Thursday after the glitch was resolved, so the glitch did not have any impact on the cut off.

I think folks below 430 (like self) should just close their accounts. I don't think learning French in 6 months could be easy.....has anyone been able to it? Any pointers?
I lost 5 points within a month, and even 435 couldn't have gotten me anywhere. :-(

People below 400 don't waste Ur time anymore.... Just apply for NewZealand or Australia

With the US closing on Indians there's no chance we r goung to get our ITA/ PNP jobs with Indian background

If ur in India then yes in 3 months u can learn good french at alliance de Francis. read and write both ..
But that doesn't guarantee a score becoz the IELTS french test could be tricky

It clearly mentioned in Express entry rounds page

Tie-breaking rule:
September 16, 2018 at 12:41:42 UTC
  • If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles.

Hi there
I know a guy who studied really hard French 6 months passed tef and got 10 more points from it as a 2nd language. Guess what? He got an ita as well.
You can do it if you have some spare time although I understand we all have jobs and other daily things to do.

I think the best bet is do a masters. My crs is just 426.Either this or try for a work permit-seems some agents do help in getting permit.
