Hello Everyone,

I am planning on applying for PR under CEC as I have completed two years stay in Canada on temporary work permits.
I have a few questions in this regard. Could someone please help?

1. I am citizen of India. When I apply for CEC, which VISA office I should select? I understand NewDelhi is India's VISA office but has a longer waiting time. I am still in Canada at present. Can I choose VISA office as CPP-O (Temporary lawful resident)?

2. It is likely that my employer may relocate me to other country or my home country- India. Will this impact my application processing in any way? If I need to leave Canada, will my VISA office change? Can you please help me plan this better?

3. In the mailing address for IMM008, can I give address of a friend who is Canadian citizen so that he can keep me informed about any communication from CIC? Does he need to be identified as my "Unpaid Representative"? Even if I nominate him as my representative, Can I use my own e-mail address in IMM008 & IMM5476?
4. When I leave Canada, if I inform CIC of my change in Residential address (which could be outside Canada), what impact will it have on my application processing?

Any help will be much appreciated.

You can choose CPP-O

2. It is likely that my employer may relocate me to other country or my home country- India. Will this impact my application processing in any way? If I need to leave Canada, will my VISA office change? Can you please help me plan this better?
You don't need to be in Canada to process a CEC application. Generally this is only an issue for in-person interviews or for countries which prohibit you from mailing your passport (i.e. whichever office you select will need to stamp your passport once your application is approved).

Your office won't change if you move countries. The CIC does have procedures to facilitate a local interview if the office changes, but the passport stamping is generally done at the office processing your application.

You can make him an unpaid representative, but generally correspondence will go to the representative. Not sure if there's much of a benefit in using a representative for the mailing address as most of your communication will be via email.

4. When I leave Canada, if I inform CIC of my change in Residential address (which could be outside Canada), what impact will it have on my application processing?
Same answer as 2. If you're sure you're moving back to India, it may make more sense to designate that office for your processing.
