Hi,

I'm new to this forum. For the Canada Immigration, I'm seeing at least 4 of the eligibility occupations matching my profile in the list of latest Federal Skilled Workers job listing.

Can someone help me answer these questions?

1. Where can we see the status of the federal jobs as they get filled? This will help me get a better idea in on the right job category I can apply for?

2. Is there any timeline for applying jobs?

3. What is the complexity of the IELTS test? How quickly it can be taken? Can we first apply for the job first, and then later take the IELTS test?

4. Is there any step by step topic/document in this forum, or any other useful links that helps people who are trying for the Canada Immigration for the first time?

Thanks
Dave

this is not JOB VISA, its FEDERAL SKILLED MIGRANT VISA, which is a permanent residency visa. this is the link for current complete applications

2. Is there any timeline for applying jobs?
applying for FSW, there is no timeline till the Express Entry which starts in Jan 2015, but there is an OVER ALL CAP of 25000, with 1000 applicants per occupation.

you have to take IELTS - GENERAL, availability depends on the location and the dates available for the next exam. You, have to send your SCORE CARD with the application, and the score should be at least BAND 6 in ALL modules.

4. Is there any step by step topic/document in this forum, or any other useful links that helps people who are trying for the Canada Immigration for the first time?

Thank you Mr. Hope. I will go through the links you have provided.

Can you pl confirm whether the regular filing has already began? I see nearly 5 jobs matching my skills (all Computer related).

If I plan to start filing, will be able to make? I'm curious to know where can we see each jobs reaching its cap. Is there any link? This will help me file for the right job.

the link is there in the reply.
I don't think normal filing has begun, as every one has to do ECA through WES, and many don't have IELTS. and for obtaining them it consumes some time.

GOOD LUCK !!

Don't take the IELTS lightly. It's a little tough, even though the medium of instruction may have been English throughout your education. I'd advise practise tests.

Thanks for the reply.

While going through the links, it says, 25,000 is total cap (+500 for PhD students).
It also says, sub-caps of 1,000 each of the 50 eligible occupations.

Does it mean, for example, if only the first 25 eligible occupations reach their cap 1000, which adds upto 25,000, and who ever applies for the remaining occupations will not be considered?
