Hello,
I am a citizen of Canada living in Ontario and would like to apply for my brother's family of 4 to visit me in Canada. The occasion is to celebrate 75th birthday of my father. I am exploring the application procedure and would greatly appreciate expert opinion on the following:
1. I am planning to submit the application online on their behalf and the appropriate "Use of representative IMM5476" form will be submitted. I created an account in the CIC portal with my email ID and declaring that I am submitting the application on someone else's behalf. Is this alright?
2. My brother's family do not have enough money to cover the expenses of their trip to Canada and I will bear all the expenses of their trip including roundtrip air travel. They will stay in my place in Canada. I came across a question asking the following:
i. How much money do you have for your stay in Canada? (In Canadian dollars - CAD)
ii. Is someone else giving you money for your stay in Canada? Yes/No
iii. Details
How should this be addressed?
3. There are two different types of application available -
i. visitor visa – to visit my spouse, common-law partner, dependent child, parent, step-parent, guardian or tutor
ii. visitor visa – to visit other family member
As mentioned above, the event they will attend is the celebration of our father's birthday. But I will be sending the invitation letter to them. Between 3(i) and 3(ii), what application type should be used for their application?
4. In the optional list of documents to be sent, the following is listed:
i. Employer letter (current) - A copy of a letter from the employer in Canada. This letter must state that the company will hire you to work in Canada for a specific period of time.
Not sure why this question is listed as my brother's family do not have any employment in Canada. Any concern regarding this?
Thank you
