Questions for Family Sponsorship - Manila

Hi everyone!

We're a married Can-Fil couple looking to submit our family class sponsorship very soon, and I'm stressing over the details as I don't want there to be any more unnecessary delays if we can avoid it, and I'm hoping you can help.


For the Sponsor

11) Proof of Intention to return to Canada

I'm living with my wife and daughter in the Philippines, all I have is 1) a letter from my parents stating they are aware of my intention to return to Canada, and 2) Bank statements, showing I'm financially unable to remain for an extended period of time. In your opinion is this adequate proof?

17) Ever married before, length of relationship.

I was previously married; since it states length of relationship, and not marriage, is this asking when I started dating my ex to when we seperated. Or date of married - seperated, or married - divorced?

30) Receive financial support from sponsor?

We live together (in the Philippines) and my wife is unemployed and we're living off my money, so technically yes? But 'how much' or 'how often' is irrelevant as I just pay for everything we need as we need it day by day. What is the safe answer here?

8.) Personal History

My wife worked at a mini-grocer in Manila 7 years ago, she can't remember the name of it, and it no longer exists.. Is writing 'unknown' an acceptable answer?
She also worked as a house maid, and can't remember the name of the family, again, is 'N/A' or 'unknown' an acceptable answer?

Dependent Language Details

We have a 4 month old daughter, it asks

1) What is your native tongue

and

2) Are you able to communicate in English or French?


I suppose technically the answer is 1) none and 2) neither. But it will be 1) English/Visayan and 2) English as she gets older. Whats the preferred answer here?


Final question I know you've probably heard a million times; what should we expect for a rough timeline? According to CIC we're looking at 2+16 months for the processing, but taking a look at the 2015 spreadsheet and most people are having everything done in 8 months or less, is that reality?

11).a letter from parents is good, but would not be enough.
proof that you have been looking for a job in Canada might be good, but there is chance VO would request more supporting docs regarding to the matter when they process your file.

30).dont think it counts as FINANCIAL SUPPORT from Sponsor(ex- giving money for her family in her home country etc), because you are married and have a kid together.
so you are taking care of your family as a head of family
but this is my opinion and maybe other members would think differently.

8) had same situation.
I wrote the name(that I think almost close enough to actual company name and wrote business shut down etc)
They do not track down her previous employment history , but it would not bad to show that she have a work experience.


no one knows how long it will takes, mine takes for about 18 months (the date from I sent off my app).
if VO would not satisfy your app , they would ask more supporting docs and it leads a delay of her PR.
so what you can do would be send a perfect (at least almost )app .
