Hi

I just had some questions I was hoping someone can clear up for me. I'm in the process of filling out the sponsorship forms for a spouse with no dependents. She is a US citizen.

IMM 1344A - APPLICATION TO SPONSOR AND UNDERTAKING
- In section 8A, it's asking for a cosigner? Will this be the spouse? Or should it be like a family member/friend?
- In section 1C when you fill out the person you're sponsoring. There's two greyed out boxes. "Length of Undertaking" and "ID Number." Since they are both greyed out, I assume I don't have to fill these out?

IMM 5409 - STATUTORY DECLARTION OF COMMON-LAW UNION
- This is a form for common laws only, I don't have to fill out correct?

IMM 5540 - SPONSOR QUESTIONNAIRE
- in question #9 "Which Canadian Visa Office Issued your immigrant visa or confirmation of permanent residence." This was about 20 years ago.. any idea I'll be able to find this out? It's not on my citizenship card or anything.
- in question #10 "What type of sponsorship?" I assume "Refugee sponrship from __________ church" would work correct? I was basically sponsored while in a refugee camp from a Church

IMM 5476 - USE OF A REPRESENTATIVE
- I'm filling this out on my own so I don't have to fill this out correct?

IMM 5491 - MEDICAL CONDITION STATEMENT
- I can disregard this as I'm not sponsoring a kid/depedent correct? The form says "Refers to the sponsorship you submitted on behalf of your orphaned relative or the child you have adopted in canada."

Thanks for all the input advice, these forums are definitively a lot to go through and I want to make sure I have them perfect.

1) Co-signer's are not needed/permitted for spousal sponsorship.
2) Don't fill anything that's greyed out, that's for office use.
3) Correct.
4) Where did you go to get your visa? That is likely the office they are referring to.
5) Correct.
6) Your wife fills that out if she wishes to designate you are her representative. Otherwise, you don't need to fill it out.
7) Correct.

Hi,

Sorry for having to create a new thread but when I try to reply to my old one it says I don't have permission.

I just have a couple more questions in regards to the following forms I'm hoping someone can help me with.

IMM5540E
Question 8 "Have you resided in countries other than Canada?"
For "Address and telephone numbers" I put:
"Born in a Refugee Camp (No longer exists) in <city/country.> I am not considered a <refugee camp country> National due to refugee status at the time.

Will this be okay? For the obvious reasons, there's no address or number. This was also like 25 years ago.. I don't have this information.

Question 9. "Are you a naturalized Canadian or Permanent resident of Canada?"
Answer is yes, and it was in 1987. Unfortunetally I'm not sure which visa office issued the immigrant visa. I think it was Vancouver though so I put that down. Will they be picky with this?

On the applicant side of things...

IMM5406E - Additional Family Information - Are we suppose to fill this out? Or does this not apply,
and they are actually serious that they want it in both the native language and english?

Section A - Spouse or Common-law, I guess I put myself here as the husband correct?

Thanks again! I'm hoping to get the immigration papers in by the end of the month. I been putting this off for two months already.
