Yes as long as you have been off it for a while.You just can not be on it when you apply.
 
There is none,and thats only for sponsoring a spouse.You do not need a job or an income but you can not be in recipt of any assisstance.You can even be on EI and still sponsor a spouse.
 
Thanks, does it matter if you have children that lives with you but they are not the spouses children, is the requirement still exempt?
 
Yep does not matter if you have children or if she does,its just some more work if she does but still no requirement.
 
Yes but they may ask her in an interview if required how you plan on supporting herself or how you plan to.But they cant refuse you on this basis as its not required.

I'm about to start an application to sponsor my wife. I have two girls and I'm just receiving Child care subsidy for one of them and the Alberta Adult Health Benefits for myself. Is any of these two considered social assistance?
