Hi

I had a question regarding the PCC required to apply for a study visa. I am an Indian citizen who spent the last three years in US completing a masters degree. I am applying for a Phd program in Canada for the September 2018 intake. I am currently in US and will be leaving for India next month. all my application paperwork will be submitted from India.
My question is do I need PCC's from both India and US or just India? Also it says in the information on the immigration website that they may or may not ask for a police verification since this is just a student visa. TIA.

If you complete the questionnaire in CIC, you will see that PCC is not required for you (unless you have indicated that you have a police record)

^I don't think what good boy said is true.

There is a question in the application form that asks if you have lived in a country different from your country of citizenship in the last five years for more than six consecutive months.
So yes, you will have to provide your FBI clearance from the US. If you don't provide this, your application will be delayed.
It's best you apply for the clearance now, as there is a few months waiting time for them.
(I applied for my FBI clearance as well when I filed my application, so this is how I know).
