Hello folks,

My wife is planning to pursue an MBA in Canada, and i'm planning to travel with her as a dependant. We want to settle in Canada on a PR and hopefully citizenship after that. I have a few questions regarding this and I hope someone can help:

1) I've read that dependants of full-time students can work full-time. Is this absolutely true, or are there any conditions to this?
2) Assuming that i find full-time employment as a dependant, can i use the employment offer to apply for my PR?
3) How much time would my wife have to find a job after finishing her MBA? What happens to my open work permit (assuming i get one) after she finishes her study?

Can someone help out with these questions? It would be greatly helpful to me :)

Thanks!

1) It's true that you qualify to apply for a work permit as a dependent. However approval of the work permit is not guaranteed.
2) Yes.
3) It's really impossible for any of us to say how long it might take her to find a job. You cannot extend your open work permit until your wife secures a job that is skill level A, B or 0

You will need to move over to the International Student section of the forum if you have further questions.

Thanks @scylla, is there a way to "move" a thread directly into another subforum? Or Do i just delete this and re-create there?
