Hello everyone,

My wife has a child from her previous marriage. The child is in his father's custody; however, we added him to our Inland Spousal Sponsorship application as a non-accompanying dependant for the purpose of potentially bringing him in about 4 to 6 years...
To make a long story short, he and his father moved to a different country after we submitted our application thus the address we filed on the application is no longer valid although they may or may not be moving back. So our questions are:
  1. Shall we bother updating CIC about his address change?
  2. Even though he is not accompanying my wife, he is required to take a Medical Exam. Would his address change affect the exam at all?
  3. Can he do the Medica Exam from a country other than what's on the application?
  4. Medical Exam has to be done within 30 days from Medical Request, and we are not sure if the father can act within the time frame. So is it possible to do the Medical Exam proactively before receiving the Medical Request?
  5. If so, what needs to be provided to the physician so they can electronically submit the results to CIC?
  6. Would CIC ask for his Passport for stamping or putting a visa on it at the end of the process?
Please advice.

Hi

1. No.

2. No.

3. Anywhere in the world as long as it is with a Panel Physician.

4. No, it can't be done before being requested. An extension can be requested if the medical can't be completed within time.

5. As above, can't be done ahead of time.

6. No.
