i ;ve interview in damascus , i do not if it save to travel.

what can i do

i agree u dont wanna miss an interview and then u r denied based on what they wanted clarification on

Do you live in Damascus or Syria?

I'm just wondering what the exact situation is in Damascus. I know in many parts of Syria it's chaos and dangerous while other parts life is going on somewhat normally. I'm just wondering why the Canadian government would ask for an interview if they knew it was too dangerous to go to that area.

for the ones processed in the gulf (abu-dhabi) they could have the interview at the embassy of riadh, doha, etc in case they cannot travel to uae....ask if u can have it in beirut or where u live; make an official letter as soon as possible and state as reason the current situation in the country, situation which u could not forsee at the moment of the application....i would try like that....good luck! let us know

the problem is more for the ones outside Syria...travelling there now is so dangerous...they could think u r undercover journalist, spy, who knows... :'(

If you dont attend the interview you will get rejected; i guess your best bet is to go to the interview, they might just need to clarify something just take a lot of evidence with you.

Contact the embassy and ask them what to do.
I just checked the Canadian embassy's website in Damascus - it says to avoid all travel to Syria. So I'm guessing they have some plans in place for people who have interviews scheduled. Here's a link to the website:

I don't think they are simply going to reject just because u don't attend the interview..there could be so many reason..ie: accident..family emergency...
In the interview letter they state that if you are unable to attend, then you must notify them (they give u a time line)

If the concern is safty, you can probably write to them to see if there is an alternative. Good luck!
