Hi there, I have a quick question if anyone can answer for me.

I came to Canada on a IEC 24 month open work permit which expires this July 2017. In April 2017 I submitted an application for the Common Law Inland Canada Sponsorship program. The application arrived on April 10th and I received a text message from IRCC confirming they had received my family class application in the IRCC mailroom and that I will receive a letter or email once processing begins (which I am still awaiting).

Because I am on a International Experience Canada OWP that expires this July 2017 do the CBSA issue a (DEPARTURE ORDER) for all IEC participants when it comes to the last month of their stay before their OWP expires. Or are IEC participants just expected to leave at the end of their stay unless they are on Implied Status from a Permanent Residence or Temporary Residence application?

I just want to make sure that I wont receive a Departure Order while my Common Law Sponsorship application is been processed whenever I am informed that processing has begun. And if I do get a Departure Order for my IEC Work Permit if CBSA aren't aware I have implied status as a visitor because I submitted my Common Law application do I just contact them and offer to show paperwork and confirmation of my Sponsorship application???

Did you include an OWP application with the Inland application? That would have given you Implied Status. Simply submitting an Inland sponsorship application, alone, does nothing to extend your legal status in Canada.

If you did not, you should submit the OWP ASAP. Total fee is still $255 (I believe).

To answer your question:
No, CBSA will not be knocking on your door the minute your current WP expires. They'll give you at least 48 hours. LOL!

Yes, it's still the two fees (WP Fee, + OWP Holder fee) == $255.

Heh. That's nice of them. Though I would expect it's a little longer than that :).

Hi there, I included an Open Work Permit Application with my Sponsorship yes. It came to $255 for the OWP plus $1040 for the Sponsorship fees.

So with me submitting a Inland Application and OWP Application with it am I entitled to stay in Canada past my expiration of my current IEC work permit?

Now I remember you. ;)

As discussed in one of your other threads, yes. You can remain in Canada after your WP expires, as a visitor until your OWP arrives.

Haha thank you for reiterating that to me :)
