Ok, so we submitted out app on Oct 7th, and just got mail from CPC in Mississauga in which they sent me back my old driving license saying it's not needed. And that;s fine BUT - I changed my name some time ago (which I explain 100 times in the application), from X-Y to just X (-Y was my ex's name), the application is in name X, and all the documents, apart from my old driving license, was in name X. I already had a problem with this once, because mycic (which i started before my name change for my work permits) is still in name X-Y, and my latest work permit was issued under X-Y, so I had to amend it (send them info they were wrong and they had to issue a new one, for name X).

Now the CPC sent me correspondence AGAIN for name X-Y, addressed me X-Y, and I am worried that they are processing my name as X-Y as well, which I don't want! So do I send them a CSE and explain *again* that I am called X? Or do I wait and hope that Warsaw office (we applied outland) which actually processes my documents will issue (of couse hopefully) my COPR and then PR card in my ACTUAL name?

I have confidence in the warsaw office. I would wait until you have sa approval and your file has been sent to warsaw. Then I would send warsaw a good letter that is less confusing than your question. :)
Some would say you could do it with a CSE inquiry but in our gcms notes I only ever saw reference to information we couriered to warsaw.

hahah sorry, I wrote it in anger :D

Long story short: they addressed mail they just sent to me in the wrong name (my old name that they obviously still have on file, but I no longer use, as it is pointed put many times in the application; not to mention that I applied for PR and my latest WP in that name too). And it just freaked me out that it seemed they started processing the PR application under the wrong name again, but I suppose at this stage it does not matter, as CPC is only doing a checkup of the documents in the app, and SA, right?

Does it make sense to order GCMS notes now? Or would you recommend I wait until perhaps I get something else from them, like another letter or something, and it then turns out that they are processing it under the wrong name?

Thanks :)

You can order now...

My wife kept her last name until after PR.. she can assume my name once she replaces her Russian passport...

This is not what this is about, but thanks profiler :)

the problem is that i got divorced in 2013 and changed my name back to my maiden name half a year before i sent in the application for PR. The only place my old former married name features is on my old driving license that i sent them as proof of address. As proof of identity I sent all my new documents with my maiden name (after the change) along with name change documents. All extra sheets in the app also contain my maiden name (as a heading giving the sponsored person's name). So I can't imagine how they could have sent me mail today with my old, no longer used former married name....

Yup..understood...

Send a CSE and apply for notes 10 days after..

Ok, will do that on monday then, thanks :)

I am wondering, would you say a CSE with just a letter from me explaining that they made a mistake using my old name and refering them to my passport andf ID documents be enough? or do i need to attach yet another copy of my passport, ids etc?

Yup. and refer to any identity docs with the correct surname...

Yes, I will do that! Ok, so a letter just explaining their mistake, referring to my real name and identity documents (should I explain that anything they find in my old name is NOT proof of identity, but older documents like bills and proof of address only?) it is - I hope it's enough!

I don't have an application number yet, though...

My previous post was more a statement...

Wait until you have an app number (unless you have a UCI already)...

Ok, so you're suggesting I *don't* send in an CSE now? I do have an UCI (for myself), but we did not receive AOR or an app number for our PR app yet.

I am worried about this, I have to say, and a bit annoyed (is there not *a* [i.e. one] file they would have on me in which my name would be clearly stated??) and would like to fix this as soon as possible, but I am wondering if this is just CPC's slip and Warsaw will be on top of this, or if this is a real problem and they are actually, again, going to issue me a document (of course hopefully they will grant me PR, knock on wood) in the wrong name...

So what do you think: submit CSE now or wait?

My suggestion is relating to having some means for CIC to identify you.
