Question regarding work/school section

Hey guys! I have a quick question regarding the work & school section.

So I was laidoff from my job a couple of months back, and I have since started a contract position, so pretty much self employed. Do I just enter this on my application, and is there usually an issue for people that did not work for a couple of months?

Citizenship does not depend on your employment.

Just report your actual situation truthfully and as accurately as possible. IRCC is just trying here to get a sense of your presence in Canada along with your other statements (travel history, address history). They don't really care about your actual employment situation.
