Dear all,

I've applied for EE and got AOR already. My work permit is expiring at the end of december this year.
I need to travel out of Canada for work at the end of november.

Would the border police deny my re-entry to Canada? Since I'll be holding a work permit with only three weeks' validity.

Thank you all for answering!

I've returned to Canada a day before my visa and work permit expired. An officer did ask me whether I applied for another work permit (I did) and asked to see the proof that I did.
Since you got your AOR you could apply for a bridging open work permit, which will be valid for a year since the date of issue. That way there will be no need to worry.

You should apply for Bridging Open Work Permit. If your recent visa expires you won't be able to apply for it anymore, so do it today. Once I came back with a visa that had only 2 weeks on it. They asked if I applied for extension and wanted to see the proof of it. You can do the same thing if you apply for BOWP.

According to my best knowledge, applying for PR itself doesn't grant you any status after your recent visa expires. That's why BOWP exist. Don't miss it
