Hello, I am sponsoring my girlfriend to come to Canada. I was just wondering how to read the processing times. At the time when i was accepted as a sponsor, and was told they sent my file abroad, the processing time was 12 months. However, 3 months later it is at 14 months processing time at that particular office. Which processing time do i refer to, and is it subject to change every time the processing times changed? Thank you.

You should consider the most recently posted processing time as the most relevant to your situation. So 14 months in this case (until they update it again).

so if 3 months before it said 1 year and than all of a sudden they changed it to 14 months how does that work? Do I add 2 months to the date which they received my application abroad?

yes. The "starting date" for counting is after sponsor approval. So whatever is on the website at that moment is what you're looking at. However, it's the time it takes to process 80% of the applications, so some are done faster - and some take a bit longer.

Good luck,
Sweden

Understood. As usual everyone on this site is a great help, and that definitely helps to relieve some anxiety. Thank you all for your responses. I truly appreciate it.
